The WORD vs The World.

In today's world many things are happening and evolving as we speak. Present days modernization goes with the tag " it's OK to do it". Our Lord Jesus came and gave his word which is what that Bible is all about i.e Word of God. Many of the things that the world says its OK to do is actually wrong.

Ps- If you are wondering what i mean by the "WORD" ..It refers to the BIBLE :)

Many of you may be wondering what i am talking about. I want to illustrate and give you a brief on what is wrong in this world but which the world says " its OK to do it". In this world everyone are sinners , there's not one perfect soul in this earth. Thus we are called by our Lord to live by the Word Of God which helps us get closer to him and helps us know what is right and wrong.

Many of the Christians and all others in today's world also are unaware of this and so are the masses. The Lord loves everyone equally and has no discrimination and wants all of us to be close to him and hear what he has to tell us.

The areas we look at here are :

  • Smoking/Drinking/Drugs- We are all made by the Lord in his own image and thus by harming and hurting ourselves we are committing a sin as we are spoiling our health and body that our Lord gave us with all his love. The world says its OK to do and is common among especially the youth. Getting Drunk or High is a form of impurness and separates us from the Lord . This is a sin.
  • Bribing-This is one of the most common sins seen today in and around the world which is approved by the world. Right from the common people to the big officials do it. It is not ethical as it causes corruption which causes chaos in the economy.
  •
  • Lying- Right from our childhood we have been brought up by our parents where we have been in the impression that lying is OK. But i am not blaming our parents . Here's an example -The fake leave note which our parents used to write to school when we didn't feel like going to school. Small things like this make a big difference. Lying is a universal sin that is known to Man since early times. This has caused N number of problems- Ended innocent lives, Saved bad people from trials , Put innocent people in troubles and dangers.
  • Pre-marital Sex and Use of Contraceptives- Love comes from God as he as he is all love. Love and lust are far apart . These two words are mistaken by a few to be the same unconsciously. The topic of sex can be Spoken about as a form of education but should be done only after marriage. The main aim of the gift of Sex by the Lord was to make a baby ,reproduce and Increase love and bonding of two individuals. This is sacred and should not be mis-used. Use of contraceptives is a sin as it Prevents a new life from being born .Use of contraceptives after wedding is not alright as it is God who decides for when he will give you a child and not when you think your ready. Before marriage one should never indulge in Pre-marital Sex as it is a sin.
  • Extra-marital Affairs-This is one of the sins that are grave and should never be committed. When two individuals get married they have a covenant with each other and one of the & sacraments which people have to take with the Lord as the focal point. They are supposed to remain together till they die and Love between them grown in the Love Of God. Thus it is very wrong to have such affairs as it is a disgrace to God and the sacrament of Marriage. Its a Big SIN.
  • Masturbation (the most important area which is a sin if committed but is said OK to do by the world) Every one of us know what this is. This is told to us by Various sources that It is OK to DO. It is a Sin. The Sexual acts and pleasures are to be shared and and if done alone are considered selfishness. IT IS A SIN.
  • Watching Porn- this is a Grave sin as it  makes you look at human beings as objects and looses the aspect of humanity and respect we have for one another. It is easily available to everyone as it a a business where people make huge amounts of money as people view it invariably. This is bad as it spoils the Main idea of making love and its Disgusting. Making love is sacred and supposed to be kept that way, Not being mis- interpreted to the public.
  • Using of Foul language/Talking Behind Backs/Bad Mouthing.-The Lord says do not speak bad about anyone or bad mouth or speak of the sins committed by others as we are all sinners. The lord says let the one who hasn't committed sin speak about sinners and find fault. Only The LORD is worthy of judging. The words which come out from our mouth have to be pure and not of filth ad we have to live in the LORD and his ways.
  • Rowdyism/Revenge/Hatred/Fighting-Human lives are taken for granted. We or no once else have the right to take or end life, this right only remains with the Lord as he is the one who created life. Hurting others physically or emotionally is also wrong. Our Lord tells us to love our neighbours/one another just as he loves us ,thus we should never hate. We must learn to forgive as if we dont it will be a burden we carry with us which will disrupt out peace and relation with the Lord. Jesus FORGAVE all those who persecuted him and went against him. We are asked by The Lord to do the same.

The above SINS mentioned are what are approved of the world and there are many more of such nonsense that keeps us apart from the LORD Which the WORD DISAPPROVES. Thus I urge you to do what is right and Love and Live in the Lord as he LOVES you and will keep doing so forever. He Loves us even if we sin. He longs for us to come back to him . Its never too late to surrender our lives to the LORD as he will make you a better person and with his love and his WORD  "YOU WILL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE !!!"

God Bless You All .... PRAISE GOD !!!!!!!

Seven Sacraments.

A sacrament is an outward efficacious sign instituted by Christ to give grace. Jesus Christ himself is the sacrament, as he gave his life to save mankind. His humanity is the outward sign or the instrument of his Divinity. It is through his humanity that the life of the Trinity comes to us as grace through the sacraments. It is Jesus Christ alone who mediates the sacraments to allow grace to flow to mankind.

Each sacrament consists of a visible external rite, which is composed of matter and form, the matter being the action, such as the pouring of water in baptism, and the form being the words spoken by the minister.

The seven sacraments—Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Confession, Marriage, Holy Orders, and the Anointing of the Sick—are the life of the Catholic Church. Each sacrament is an outward sign of an inward grace. When we participate in them worthily, each provides us with graces—with the life of God in our soul. In worship, we give to God that which we owe Him; in the sacraments, He gives us the graces necessary to live a truly human life.

The first three sacraments—Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion—are known as the sacraments of initiation, because the rest of our life as a Christian depends on them.
·

            Baptism
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.
·        Eucharist

Catholics believe the Eucharist, or Communion, is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ's Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God.
·        Reconciliation

The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance, or Penance and Reconciliation) has three elements: conversion, confession and celebration. In it we find God's unconditional forgiveness; as a result we are called to forgive others.
·        Confirmation

Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation for Catholics. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
·        Marriage

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.
·        Holy Orders

In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, or Ordination, the priest being ordained vows to lead other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments (especially the Eucharist), by proclaiming the Gospel, and by providing other means to holiness.
·        Anointing of the Sick

The Catholic Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness.

May you always bear witness to the love of God in this world, so that the afflicted and the needy will find in you generous friends and welcome you into the joys of Heaven.

Importance and POWER of Prayer _/\_

Many of us mistake Praying as a daily chore that we have to do may be because we are forced to or if we want something. When ever we need something we go to the almighty with our check list and petitions. This is a wrong notion as our Lord longs to spend time with us as we are his children , just as our earthly parents long to spend time with us and care for us. As shown in the above picture every prayer is a conversation with God and unless we Pray we cannot get to know our lord better and get close to him as he loves us beyond measure and wants to give us the best in life and after life. Praying is just not going to Church on Sundays or when ever we want a favor from God.

" PRAYER " means talking to The Lord  every day by reading the Word of God (The Bible) and spending time apart from your day just for the Lord. Praise and worship him at all times . "THE BIBLE" is the love letter that is given to us by the Lord where he has told us everything we have to know about life and whole lot more that will make us understand him better and get close to him. by reading the word the Lord will talk to us and answer all our problems.

Ps- The Lord knows all our worries even without us going to him. he basically knows everything ;).

But he expects us to go to him when we have a problem and wants us to surrender our lives to him so that he can work his power and change your life forever.

Praying must be continues and must not be done as a chore but from the heart with faith in the LORD.
also besides reading the BIBLE and going to church spend and keep apart some time for the lord and pray to him. Just talk to him and just ponder over the Bible verse or chapter or Gospel that you read and try and ask the lord what he is trying to tell you by that Bible verse or chapter or Gospel and Trust me i will guarantee you an answer.

Following are a few Bible verses which are the words spoken By our LORD JESUS CHRIST and other Prophets which will make you understand the POWER of PRAYER

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

Job 1:1-22
There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil. There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east. His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.
1 Timothy 2:8
I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;

Acts 13:1-3
Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

1 Timothy 2:8-15
I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
John 14:6-14

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.

Prayer is such a powerful force. We underestimate it so much. Prayer can move mountains if only we would let it. If only you would realize just how powerful prayer can be, you would never feel hopeless.
I talk and ask the angels to help; I ask angels to intercede but I don’t pray to them. I pray only to God. Prayer is direct communication with God.
No one ever prays alone. When you pray to God there is a multitude of angels of prayer there, praying with you, regardless of your religious faith or how you are behaving. They are there enhancing your prayer, interceding on your behalf and imploring God to grant your prayer. Every time you pray, even if it is only one word, the angels of prayer are like a never-ending stream, flowing at tremendous speed to Heaven with your prayers.
Nothing is too trivial … or too big to pray for either. Sometimes, we get overwhelmed by a situation such as a war or a famine and feel we can do nothing to help. We can. We can pray. When we are moved by something we see on the TV news or read about in a newspaper we should say a prayer..
When you hear an ambulance or walk past a hospital, say a quick prayer for whoever is sick and for those who are caring for them. When you see someone in difficulties on the street, say a prayer for them. We all need to expand our circle of prayers out from ourselves, our family and friends. You are being called upon to pray for other people – including people in the world whom you have never met.

I believe that each and every one of you has been demonstrated the power of prayer in your own life.

Daily prayer gives us an opportunity to share all aspects of one’s life with God. Life’s circumstances change on a daily basis. In fact, things can go from good to bad to worse in a very short time. God calls us to bring our concerns to Him for disposition and potential blessing. He also calls us to share our joys and triumphs with Him. In fact, Jeremiah 33:3 states, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” God wants us to call on Him so that He can answer our prayers. He also wants to share with us incredible blessings that we might otherwise have missed had we not reached out to Him through prayer. And finally, James 4:8 tells us to “draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” God wants us to be close to Him at all times.

Daily prayer gives us the chance to express gratitude for the things in life that He provides. It is no secret that we must give thanks to the Lord for all the things that He provides and all of the things He does on our behalf. His goodness and lovingkindness to us should be recognized on a daily basis. In 1 Chronicles 16:34, we are commanded to “give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” The psalmist tells us in Psalm 9:1, “I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.” We pray on a daily basis to acknowledge His faithfulness and His abundant provision in our daily lives.

Daily prayer provides the platform for confessing our sin and asking for help repenting of that sin. Let’s face it, we all sin daily whether we know it or not. So as followers of Jesus Christ, what must we do? Scripture makes it very clear: “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD’— and you forgave the guilt of my sin” (Psalm 32:5). Tell God what He already knows and do it on a daily basis. Daily prayer time is a great place to unburden one’s self from the debilitating effects of sin. So often Christians walk around with unconfessed sin that hinders our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, when we should humbly submit ourselves and ask for forgiveness in prayer. Another important element of daily prayer is asking God for the strength to repent of our sins. Only God can help us turn from our sins, and, for this to be so, He needs to hear our plea to repent.

Daily prayer is an act of worship and obedience. Perhaps no other verse better summarizes why we should pray on a daily basis than 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” It’s God’s will for His children to rejoice in Him, to pray to Him and give thanks to Him. To pray without ceasing simply means that we should make prayer a regular habit and never stop doing so. Prayer also is an act of worship because by praying to Him we are showing Him how much we adore Him. Daily prayer is also an act of obedience that brings joy to the Lord to see His children following His commands.

Daily prayer is a way to acknowledge who is really in control of our lives. As Christians, we know who is really in control. God is sovereign. Nothing happens without God knowing about it (Isaiah 46:9-10; Daniel 4:17). Because He is sovereign over all, He deserves our worship and praise. “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all” (1 Chronicles 29:11). God is our great King and as such He controls every aspect of our lives. Each day we should acknowledge His proper place in our lives humbly and with a reverence reserved for such a great and awesome King.

Finally, prayer is something that we all should want to do on a daily basis. Yet for many Christians it can be a challenge to humble one’s self in daily prayer. For those who have been walking with the Lord for many years, daily prayer may become stale and lacking in proper conviction or reverence. Whether one is a new believer or an established one, prayer should always be considered as THE best way to speak to God. Imagine not speaking to a loved one or a close friend. How long would the relationship last? Daily prayer with God is daily fellowship with our heavenly Father. It is truly amazing that God would want to have fellowship with us at all. In fact, the psalmist asks, “What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:4). Daily prayer is a good way to understand this incredible truth and the marvelous privilege God has given us.

What does it mean to be Christian??..

Some people think that to be a Christian means you can't see movies, that you can't dance, can't have a drink, or that you can't have any more fun or the vice-versa. That isn't true. Christianity isn't about rules and regulations or freaking out in life just partying and having a ball to follow. It is about a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament times God gave the Law which had to be followed precisely. There were instructions about clothes, food, what you could or could not do on the Sabbath, what you had to do in the temple, how priests were to carry out their functions, how strangers were to be treated, how people were to be punished, etc. All these things were to be observed properly and precisely since all of them affected their standing before God. That was in Old Testament times; but now we have Jesus, and the requirements of the Law are no longer necessary for us in order to please God.

Being a Christian means that you are changed on the inside--not controlled from the outside. It means that your heart has been changed by the presence of God. It does not mean that you are required to go to church, required to pay tithes, required to be good, required to do anything in order to stay a Christian. It means you desire to do those things because you've been changed.

Regeneration

Regeneration means that there has been an actual change in a person. When someone becomes a Christian by trusting in the sacrifice of Christ alone for the forgiveness of his sins, then the Holy Spirit has come and lives in that person. Because the person has been changed from the inside, he does not desire to do those things that are contrary to God. Therefore, he will naturally desire to go to church. He will desire to be good, to be honest, etc. He does not go to church or be goo or be honest in order to be a Christian. He does those things because he already is one. It means that those things he desires to do change. He wants to change and wants to please God--from the inside.

So, being a Christian means that you have encountered the true and living God, and that you have undergone a change in your heart and soul. It means that you are not restricted to the Laws of right and wrong in order to please God because you cannot please God by what you do. God will only find pleasure in you through Jesus Christ.

To be a Christian means to follow Christ, to desire Him, to fellowship with Him, to be indwelt by Him, and to bring glory to Him in your life.

It's all about living "through" Christ ,"with" Christ and "in" Christ.

Jesus's Mission on earth.

From right at the beginning, in the book of Genesis, we read of a descendant who would come and reverse the effects of Adams sin. We read of a promised ‘seed’ who would destroy the effects of sin (Gen 3:15 – see The promise in Eden). As we continue we read of this descendant being the focal point of the promises which God gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – that he would have victory over enemies and that he would eventually bring a blessing to all the nations of the earth (Gen 22:17-18 – see The promises to Abraham). This hope of a ‘promised seed’ was known to the Jewish people as “The Messiah” – the saviour. Many prophecies were given by the prophets concerning this one who would come to bring men back to God. The Bible speaks of how the people of Israel were chosen by God and that he established a Kingdom for them in the past. However due to disobedience this Kingdom was destroyed but the Bible teaches that the Messiah would be the one who would restore the Kingdom once again to Israel – but this future establishment would be everlasting and the rule of the Messiah would be righteous. As a reward for following the example of the Messiah the Bible teaches that we too can be given eternal life to rule in this Kingdom.

This was ‘the purpose’ that God had from the very beginning which became reality when Jesus (a name which means “saviour”) was born. That God would seek to reconcile mankind back to him again. As the gospel of John records:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

The reference to “the word” is of great significance. The Greek word is “logos” and simply means “idea” or “purpose”. Gods purpose therefore was centered in Christ and so when “the man Christ Jesus” was born the purpose, the word, became flesh as we read of later in John:

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Jesus Christ was therefore ‘flesh’. Born a man. He lived a life in which he was tempted to sin like all other men – yet unlike all other men he had the power to resist the temptations of the flesh. He resisted and lived a perfect life of obedience. He is the only man to have ever lived who ‘did no sin’ (1 Peter 2:22). He fulfilled God’s will perfectly so that he was “the image of the invisible God” Col 1:15 and could say to his followers “he that hath seen me hath seen the father” John 14:9.

We read he died a sacrificial, painful death in utter submission to the will of the Father. Why did he need to do this? Why was this in the purpose of God?

Well it was God’s way of opening up a way of salvation and reversing the effects of Adams fall. Only one who possessed the inclination to sin and yet overcome it’s temptations completely could be a perfect sacrifice to take away sin. No other man could ever have done this for everyone else has “sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Jesus then was totally unique. He was indeed the only begotten son of God.

We read in the Bible that death is the wages for sin (Romans 6:23) and so therefore God raised Jesus from the dead because he had no personal transgressions. Jesus had to die to because he possessed our ‘sin cursed’ nature – the same nature we all inherit from Adam. In death he overcame that nature destroying that nature “that had the power of death” (Hebrews 2:14).

Because of this, God raised Jesus Christ from the dead opening a way of salvation for all who have faith in God and in the Messiah – that by associating ourselves with Christ by belief and baptism in the gospel, we can have our sins forgiven and we too can be raised from he dead and given the gift of eternal life.

The Bible teaches us that Jesus has indeed become the “mediator” between God and unrighteous, sinful man (1 Tim 2:5) and that God is willing to input righteousness to us if we associate ourselves with him through baptism. This is the immediate benefit of being associated with Him – that, in the eyes of God we are counted righteous and are able to approach unto God to seek forgiveness of sin. However the ultimate befit is to be given eternal life when Christ returns to the earth. To have our vile bodies of sin prone flesh destroyed and made into immortal bodies. To have our natural natures we in inherit from Adam, destroyed and to be given the gift of an immortal nature.

The promised seed then that was in God’s purpose from the beginning was indeed Jesus Christ. In his first coming he opened a way for men to have salvation and to draw near to God and in his second coming he will restore the Kingdom of God on the earth.
