Many of us mistake Praying as a daily chore that we have to do may be because we are forced to or if we want something. When ever we need something we go to the almighty with our check list and petitions. This is a wrong notion as our Lord longs to spend time with us as we are his children , just as our earthly parents long to spend time with us and care for us. As shown in the above picture every prayer is a conversation with God and unless we Pray we cannot get to know our lord better and get close to him as he loves us beyond measure and wants to give us the best in life and after life. Praying is just not going to Church on Sundays or when ever we want a favor from God.
" PRAYER " means talking to The Lord every day by reading the Word of God (The Bible) and spending time apart from your day just for the Lord. Praise and worship him at all times . "THE BIBLE" is the love letter that is given to us by the Lord where he has told us everything we have to know about life and whole lot more that will make us understand him better and get close to him. by reading the word the Lord will talk to us and answer all our problems.
Ps- The Lord knows all our worries even without us going to him. he basically knows everything ;).
But he expects us to go to him when we have a problem and wants us to surrender our lives to him so that he can work his power and change your life forever.
Praying must be continues and must not be done as a chore but from the heart with faith in the LORD.
also besides reading the BIBLE and going to church spend and keep apart some time for the lord and pray to him. Just talk to him and just ponder over the Bible verse or chapter or Gospel that you read and try and ask the lord what he is trying to tell you by that Bible verse or chapter or Gospel and Trust me i will guarantee you an answer.
Following are a few Bible verses which are the words spoken By our LORD JESUS CHRIST and other Prophets which will make you understand the POWER of PRAYER

be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God

ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's
sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are
afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is
for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same
sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as

Job
1:1-22
There
was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and
upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil. There were born to him
seven sons and three daughters. He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500
yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man
was the greatest of all the people of the east. His sons used to go and hold a
feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their
three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when the days of the feast had
run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early
in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all.
For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their
hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

Timothy 2:8-15
I
desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without
anger or quarreling; likewise also that women should adorn themselves in
respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and
gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess
godliness—with good works. Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I
do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she
is to remain quiet.
John
14:6-14
Jesus
said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father
also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him,
“Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I
been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen
me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe
that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I
do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his
works.
Prayer
is such a powerful force. We underestimate it so much. Prayer can move
mountains if only we would let it. If only you would realize just how powerful
prayer can be, you would never feel hopeless.
I
talk and ask the angels to help; I ask angels to intercede but I don’t pray to
them. I pray only to God. Prayer is direct communication with God.
No
one ever prays alone. When you pray to God there is a multitude of angels of
prayer there, praying with you, regardless of your religious faith or how you
are behaving. They are there enhancing your prayer, interceding on your behalf
and imploring God to grant your prayer. Every time you pray, even if it is only
one word, the angels of prayer are like a never-ending stream, flowing at
tremendous speed to Heaven with your prayers.
Nothing
is too trivial … or too big to pray for either. Sometimes, we get overwhelmed
by a situation such as a war or a famine and feel we can do nothing to help. We
can. We can pray. When we are moved by something we see on the TV news or read
about in a newspaper we should say a prayer..
When
you hear an ambulance or walk past a hospital, say a quick prayer for whoever
is sick and for those who are caring for them. When you see someone in
difficulties on the street, say a prayer for them. We all need to expand our
circle of prayers out from ourselves, our family and friends. You are being
called upon to pray for other people – including people in the world whom you
have never met.
I
believe that each and every one of you has been demonstrated the power of
prayer in your own life.
Daily
prayer gives us an opportunity to share all aspects of one’s life with God.
Life’s circumstances change on a daily basis. In fact, things can go from good
to bad to worse in a very short time. God calls us to bring our concerns to Him
for disposition and potential blessing. He also calls us to share our joys and
triumphs with Him. In fact, Jeremiah 33:3 states, “Call to me and I will answer
you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” God wants us
to call on Him so that He can answer our prayers. He also wants to share with
us incredible blessings that we might otherwise have missed had we not reached
out to Him through prayer. And finally, James 4:8 tells us to “draw near to
God, and he will draw near to you.” God wants us to be close to Him at all
times.
Daily
prayer gives us the chance to express gratitude for the things in life that He
provides. It is no secret that we must give thanks to the Lord for all the
things that He provides and all of the things He does on our behalf. His
goodness and lovingkindness to us should be recognized on a daily basis. In 1
Chronicles 16:34, we are commanded to “give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.” The psalmist tells us in Psalm 9:1, “I will praise
you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.” We pray on a
daily basis to acknowledge His faithfulness and His abundant provision in our
daily lives.
Daily
prayer provides the platform for confessing our sin and asking for help
repenting of that sin. Let’s face it, we all sin daily whether we know it or
not. So as followers of Jesus Christ, what must we do? Scripture makes it very
clear: “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I
said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD’— and you forgave the guilt
of my sin” (Psalm 32:5). Tell God what He already knows and do it on a daily
basis. Daily prayer time is a great place to unburden one’s self from the
debilitating effects of sin. So often Christians walk around with unconfessed
sin that hinders our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, when we should
humbly submit ourselves and ask for forgiveness in prayer. Another important
element of daily prayer is asking God for the strength to repent of our sins.
Only God can help us turn from our sins, and, for this to be so, He needs to
hear our plea to repent.
Daily
prayer is an act of worship and obedience. Perhaps no other verse better
summarizes why we should pray on a daily basis than 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this
is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” It’s God’s will for His children to
rejoice in Him, to pray to Him and give thanks to Him. To pray without ceasing
simply means that we should make prayer a regular habit and never stop doing
so. Prayer also is an act of worship because by praying to Him we are showing
Him how much we adore Him. Daily prayer is also an act of obedience that brings
joy to the Lord to see His children following His commands.
Daily
prayer is a way to acknowledge who is really in control of our lives. As
Christians, we know who is really in control. God is sovereign. Nothing happens
without God knowing about it (Isaiah 46:9-10; Daniel 4:17). Because He is
sovereign over all, He deserves our worship and praise. “Yours, O LORD, is the
greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for
everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are
exalted as head over all” (1 Chronicles 29:11). God is our great King and as
such He controls every aspect of our lives. Each day we should acknowledge His
proper place in our lives humbly and with a reverence reserved for such a great
and awesome King.
Finally,
prayer is something that we all should want to do on a daily basis. Yet for
many Christians it can be a challenge to humble one’s self in daily prayer. For
those who have been walking with the Lord for many years, daily prayer may
become stale and lacking in proper conviction or reverence. Whether one is a
new believer or an established one, prayer should always be considered as THE
best way to speak to God. Imagine not speaking to a loved one or a close
friend. How long would the relationship last? Daily prayer with God is daily
fellowship with our heavenly Father. It is truly amazing that God would want to
have fellowship with us at all. In fact, the psalmist asks, “What is man that
you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:4).
Daily prayer is a good way to understand this incredible truth and the
marvelous privilege God has given us.
